Release of version 8.4.10.27 of the Basis Financial Management System for Schools to Cater to the required GST methodology enacted by government in July 2010. With this release all users of Basis Version 7.0 (Console Mode) except those using the Basis Warehouse Management System were updated to a fully visual environment. Basis announced the release of the Financial Management System for Schools Interface to the MUSAC Student Management System in addition to the existing KAMAR Interface.

The existing Ecert Download tool was replaced by new, smarter, faster processes that directly linked the NZFSA Servers to the Basis Warehouse Management System, Electronic Certification Module. This integration using SOAP allowed for even greater efficiency, speed and accuracy to be achieved in Warehouses required to receive and submit certificates around every load. |

This suite of modules was built from the ground up to met the needs of New Zealand Secondary School Administrations and incorporated advanced accounting and management features peculiar to the school environment as well as dynamic ODBC links to the KAMAR Student Management System. |

Basis released a new Sales Order Entry component for the Warehouse Management Suite. This component was developed to facilitate the management of telesales and/or marketing orders for product through to warehouse processing and billing for product sales and shipping costs. This was a departure from previous Warehouse Management System which operated in a Third Party Logistics fashion to a 1st party operation as well as the 3PL functionality already evolved. Progressive updates to all Basis modules in Console Mode occurred culminating in the release and distribution of version 7 toward the end of 2003. Version 7 was released as a 32 bit version and signalled the end of development on the 16 bit platform. |

Basis released Version 5.6 of all modules to consolidate changes required to meet the challenges of the Millenium. No incidents of Year 2000 issues were reported and all clients business systems continued without interruption. |

The Basis Stock Receipting System is released as a Bar Code Scanner / Weight Taker designed to work in the international marketplace catering to the variety of bar code formats in use as well as variations in Weight measurements (Kilograms & Pounds) and date representations. The Stock Receipting System is designed to sit between the physical goods and organisations in house Inventory and Financial Systems. First installation of Basis into Mexico as well as additional installations to California and Toronto.
Basis were Invited to present a paper on Barcode Technology and it uses in the Meat Industry to the Meat Importers Council of America West Coast Division in Monterey California in February 1999. This was followed up by a similar invitation to co-present a second seminar on Bar Code Standardisation, and Bar Code Utilisation with Ashley Manners of the Australian Meat Board at the Meat Importers Council of America=s annual convention in Chicago in October 1999.
Release of Basis 5.5 across all modules which moves Basis from a 16 Bit DOS Platform to 32 bit Protected Mode DOS and Console Mode Windows Platforms. Client Updating to this platform commenced in June 1999.
In response to New Zealand MAF Requirements development of the Basis Electronic Certification Extensions to the Supply Chain Management System began in August 1999. |

Basis Supply Chain Management was installed for the first time in an International Distribution Centre in Los Angeles, to handle New Zealand and Australian Chilled Product Received into Los Angeles. Additional Functionality in the Form of support for European and American dates, Kilograms and Pounds, Specific and Generic Coding was Added and Version 5 was born.
Additional Functionality was added to the Supply Chain Management System to allow for Pallet based Loadout for Hubbing of Product as well as additional Documentation and Reporting Capabilities. The Additional Functionality was released into Version 5.1 First release of Beta=s for Pallet Labelling using EAN Barcode formats, and BasisEDI were installed. |

The SD Systems Partnership Rationalised its structure and became incorporated as a Limited Liability Company known as Basis Developments Ltd. The Business Management Series was Renamed Basis (Business Accounting Software/Information System) and the process of Updating Clients to Version 4.1 continued. This process of change did not affect any existing ownership or operating structures, but merely began the repositioning of Basis in the Market Place. |

SD Systems were commissioned, to extend functionality of Version 3 Supply Chain Management to Incorporate Bar Code Support for multiple bar code formats by AFFCO. Version 4 of Supply Chain Management was completed and Installed at existing client sites in conjunction with Intermec Portable Data Terminals from Walker Datavision.

While a director of a Manawatu Based Office Equipment Company Alan & Jeanette McGrath set up a partnership known as SD Systems, to facilitate the development of specialised software which was sold to the clients of the local company. Development of early versions of modules now known as Credit Management System, Accounts Payable System, General Ledger System and Supply Chain Management System were undertaken as Clients specifications required greater flexibility or functionality than the >Off The Shelf= solutions of the time.
Significant research into software platforms resulted in the selection of Dataflex as the Application generator, specifically due to the full Relational Database Engine underlying all Systems Design and the ability to provide cross platform support for multiple Operating Systems. |
